With over 15 years in the early education field coupled with elementary education, health, human development and family studies degrees, plus two tiny humans of her own, Kate is excited to offer parenting and family coaching. As a member of the National Parenting Education Network, Kate is up-to-date on the latest trends in positive guidance and all things parenting related. In addition, through her work in early childhood education, she is consistently training and educating herself on what works and what doesn’t work when it comes to kids. Still, with all of the education, training and experience, what she hopes and dreams of more than anything, is to break the trends of following a “one size fits all” template for parenting. There is no book, no manual, and no right or wrong answer for raising tiny humans and if there is one thing that is for sure, it is that we all need to feel supported, regardless of our methods. So, if for no other reason than to feel supported, consider a coaching call with Kate. She can cater to any situation or parenting issue, and will work with you personally to develop systems and plans that work for you. Put down the books, stop googling, and schedule a session with Kate. See the list below for some specific parenting obstacles and how you’d work though it with Kate.

Potty Training-This focus is perfect regardless of where you are in the potty training process. Whether you’re not sure where to begin or dealing with a child who has regressed, we will work to get your child where you want them to be in the potty process by creating a plan that works for you, your child, and your schedule. We can meet over FaceTime or Zoom to discuss where you are in the potty training process, what your goals are, your child’s personality including their likes and dislikes, your schedule, and any concerns you have regarding the process. From there you’ll receive a written personalized plan and a second session to discuss and review the plan. We will then check in weekly over the course of 3-6 weeks as you put your plan into action.
Redirection, child guidance and discipline-This focus is ideal for parents with children entering into, or already in their toddler years. We will start by meeting over FaceTime or Zoom to discuss your family dynamics, your questions & concerns, and your parenting style. There is no right or wrong way to handle toddler redirection, so we will match plans and techniques to your family’s beliefs and values. From there you’ll receive a written re-direction plan with tips and tactics to help guide you through the parenting of a toddler. We will schedule a session to discuss the plan. From there, you’ll receive 2 emergency calls to be used in the heat of the moment to help guide you during a difficult parenting moment in addition to 3 scheduled follow-ups.
Sleep-Whether you’re bringing home a newborn baby or transitioning a toddler out of the crib and into a bed, we can focus on creating healthy sleep habits. We will talk about what your goals are and what is developmentally appropriate for your child’s age. In addition, we’ll discuss the pros and cons of common sleep theories and compare these to your goals and values. Sleep is integral (both parents’ sleep as well as your child’s sleep) to health and wellbeing which means we will also follow AAP guidelines when developing an action plan. This focus starts with an initial consultation where we will discuss all of these things, followed by a written plan that will be reviewed and 3 follow up sessions as you implement your strategies. In addition, sleep patterns change so frequently during the first few years, so you’ll receive revision sessions and revised plans at your discretion for a discounted rate.

From there, you’ll be able to tour the schools armed with appropriate information as well as questions to ask.
